What Is A Good Woman?

“I’m A Good Woman” initially grew out of my frustration with hearing men talking about the lack of quality women, yet they pass them every day. There are plenty of GOOD women out there who know how to take care of themselves, their families and their man when the right one should appear.  I know because I surround myself with them. My closest friends are professional women with aspirations of being successful in their careers, their relationships and helping their community. I consider myself one as well.  So, this site is dedicated to us and other women like us. This is NOT a man bashing site. I love men! Although, I will point out the error of their ways from time to time. This is a female upliftment, encouragement and motivation site. I don’t believe in waiting on a man to give us our kudos. We can give them to ourselves! Now, being a GOOD women doesn’t mean we’re perfect. We all make mistakes but those mistakes help mold us into who we are. Good women take those mistakes, own up to them, accept the consequences that accompany them, file them under lessons learned and keep it moving. Each day we strive to be better than we were the day before. So ask yourself this question….Are you a GOOD woman?

Among these pages you’ll find a place that sings the praises of women everywhere, presents positive images and messages of womanhood and allows the swapping of intelligent ideas. I’ve never been one for talking about myself but here goes……

WHO AM I?

I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a friend and a mentor. My goal in life is simple….to use my talents to help others. By occupation I’m a freelance writer and a voice over artist. I also helped found and run a non-profit geared toward helping young people maneuver the college access maze and get to college. In a previous life, I was the producer and host of the only talk show in Memphis geared toward youth and young adults.

I created the I’m A Good Woman Literary Series, the IGW products and this site because I have a special place in my heart for my sisters. I see so many going astray while in pursuit of popularity, material wealth and companionship. I see many of us hurting and in need of a little reassurance that we have wonderful qualities. I also see those who work tirelessly to uplift themselves and their communities while conveying sound morals and judgment, integrity and virtue with little to no recognition for their efforts. To you I tip my hat.

Through my writings and products I seek to remind all women of the beauty that lies within.  My blogs are meant to entertain while evoking intelligent, stimulating dialogue, pride and occasionally a little debate.  I encourage you to read them and add your comments. I am always eager to hear the opinions of others but constructive criticism only PLEASE. I'm sensitive!
